You said it yourself; The only reason people reply is to complain. Think then about all the people who read your columns and don't complain. There are droves of people out there who read your column and don't not like it! In fact, I'd dare say there are a great deal of people who enjoy your column, considering the paper still likes having you around. Coincidentally, I like have you around as well.
