"I actually hadn't thought about the "mad scientist" variety of nerd until you brought it up, but yes, I'd say that would be a bad kind of nerd...I think what I meant to reference in my post was the kind of nerd with no social life or interest in people. Though who's to say they're not ultimately the same? If comic books have taught us anything, it's that smart people on the fringe of society can turn out to be evil genius scientists."
