All songs titled "July" are country. For whatever reason, it's true.
I'll never understand you rubes.

Nope. Innocence Mission, "July." Listen to a sample here: http://www.last.fm/music/The+Innocence+Mission/_/July
"One friend came in
out of nowhere a friend,
sparklers in both her hands for me
and saved the day
when I had run away
to envy and bad feeling."
Whatever IM are, they're not country.
Neither is the song I listed for July, actually...though I suppose "Death on Sunday" could actually make a decent country song title.
I note the preponderance of country-July songs, though. And I wonder if it's because July is so HOT in the south that it's the quintessential southern month, the way winter is the quintessential northern season. (I haven't done any research on possible December-north connections, so can't lay claim to a month for northerners -- and I know Counting Crows are not northerners, so that's one down.)
